ERG is a vision test that measures the function of your retina- the light-sensitive layer at the back of your eye. When light from an image enters the eye, it is converted into electricity by specialized cells in the retina, which then send the electricity through the optic nerve to the brain where you “see” the image. The pERG test records how well your retinal cells are conveying those electrical impulses.
